The Kenilworth U3A Petanque Group meets every week at 2pm on Tuesdays, at Castle Farm Recreation Centre (off Fishponds Rd).The game can be played all year round, except in heavy rain or in snow.

It is similar to bowls, with a coche (jack) being thrown, then boules (bowls) being thrown or rolled to the coche. The team with one or more boule(s) nearest to the coche wins the end, with one point for each.The first team to 13 points wins.  It is great fun, and no experience is required. It is easy to learn, and training will be given.

The picture shows the 'Winter' group (Peter, Chris, Brian, Norman and Malcolm) who meet whatever the temperature (0%C in this case).We currently get up to ten players (including several ladies), but any number can play.Boules can be borrowed from the group leader.
